Unit 10

What advice would you now give to someone writing his/her first scientific paper?

The first thing I would advise someone to do is set aside enough time for research.Do not try to write your paper all in one shot, this will only cause you to take in to much information at once and it will become very overwhelming.try not to over load your brain walk away from your writing, come back with a clear mind. Do your research from many different articles, journals, books, the more information you gather will help when you are revising your paper. Have family members, friends and the writing center proofread your work. Do not assume all feedback in negative. Most of all do not be so hard on yourself writing is a learned process that comes with practice.

What areas do you feel you strengthened in the past 10 weeks?

I would say my strengthens would be time management, outlining, brainstorming, proofreading revision still needs some work.

What areas do you feel still need improvement in regards to writing?

In text citations,APA format and the ever dreaded paraphrasing

Any final thoughts or statements to make before we wrap up?

Even though I had a few set backs and did not do so well in this class I am able to look back at the areas where there is still much work to be done and be ok with it today. I am not looking at myself as A failure as I would have in the past, all things are a learning process, I did not wake up and say now. I am a great writer and poof there it is. I am not a great writer but I am a better writer, who knows in time with practice it may be one of my journals you will be basing your on.Nothing is impossible.Dare to follow your dreams and make them a reality.

To all I wish nothing but the best in each and everything you do, Professor Wyatt thank you for the tools of becoming a better writer. And believe me in text citations number one at the top of my list (lol)Be well and thank all of you for a wonderful ten weeks. See you in the halls again, Best of luck to all.
